Rangituia

This two-storey new build on a hill, with a masonry block retaining wall, was designed as a modern, minimalist family home. The brief was a practical but stylish space with clean lines and open areas.

During the build the gib came up bumpy after painting and needed a full reskim of the interior. The team refinished the walls to get a smooth finish. The result balances modern design with family functionality.

Materials

JSC Alaskan yellow cedar cladding adds warmth and texture to the exterior. Inside, oak veneer kitchen cabinetry sits alongside an airy concrete Caesarstone benchtop. The built-in woodburner is enclosed in Azuma grey matt tiles, and outside the honed masonry block wall adds an architectural edge.
