Taylor Projects and Solutions is a Whangamatā building company run by Bryce Taylor. We build new homes and renovate old ones along this stretch of coast, and we live here too.
Who we are
A local team, building in the town we live in.
Bryce started Taylor Projects and Solutions in 2019. The company has grown to a team of nine, and the work has stayed in and around Whangamatā and the Coromandel by choice rather than by accident.

Our story
Why we build the way we do
Building a home is one of the biggest things most people ever take on, and for a lot of our clients it happens at a distance. They are in Auckland or Hamilton during the week and get to Whangamatā when they can.
That shapes how we run a job. One project manager, scheduled site meetings, straight answers when something changes, and documentation kept as we go rather than scrambled together at the end.
Coastal work is its own thing
Salt air, wind and sun get into a building faster here than they do inland. It changes the materials we specify, how we detail junctions and flashings, and what we look for the moment cladding comes off an older house. That knowledge is not something you pick up from a plan set. You get it from building on this coast for years.

Keegan
Qualified Builder
From apprentice to site foreman, Keegan started with TPS back in 2021 as an apprentice, became a qualified builder at the start of 2023, and is now one of our foremen.
Some of the jobs he’s led? Hauturu, Diana Ave, and 113 Linton, projects that needed sharp planning, attention to detail, and clear communication at every stage.
His building knowledge across the board makes him a go-to for problem-solving on site. He’s a huge asset to the team, and we’re stoked to have him on our team.
Dylan
Qualified Builder
Dylan joined the TPS team at the start of the year as a Qualified Builder.
Originally from Auckland, he spent some time driving trucks in Hamilton before making the move back into the trade. He’s known on site for his attention to detail and consistency, keeping his building sites as shiny as he kept his truck.
Outside of work, Dylan’s usually on the golf course, spending time with family, having a beer with the boys, or working on his new place. Good to have you on the team, mate.
Jay
Qualified Builder
Jay came on board in early February and has been a steady hand on site ever since. With over 10 years’ experience leading builds and managing teams, he brings a calm, confident approach that keeps projects moving and the crew working well together.
He’s always willing to share what he knows and enjoys helping the younger guys grow their skills.

Rowan
Qualified Builder
Rowan joined us four months ago and has already become a big part of the team. He’s got a diverse background, having worked in a dairy factory, framing and trusses, bricklaying, and building. He brings a well-rounded skill set and a rock-solid work ethic to every project. Plus, when he’s on site, you know everything he does will be efficient and consistent in quality.
To add to that, he’s also seriously talented on the drums, and we were lucky enough to see it in action a few weeks back.

Damian
Apprentice Builder
Introducing Damian, one of our latest recruits at TPS! After mastering the art of scaffolding, Damian’s now diving head first into the world of building, eager to expand his skill set and kickstart his apprenticeship. His infectious energy, unwavering dedication and excitement make him a perfect addition to our team.
Outside of work, you’ll find him enjoying Muay Thai boxing, gaming, and spending quality time with his adorable son.
Isaac

Meet our newest (and youngest) member of the TPS team, Isaac!
A long-time Whangamatā local, he’s joined us as our latest apprentice. Always sporting a fresh cut, Isaac’s got a great attitude, is always eager to learn and makes sure to see every task assigned to him through.
Outside of work, he’s either playing a sport or enjoying the sea. Great to have you on the team, Isaac!

Whangamatā is where we live
We are a corporate supporter of Autism Rights Aotearoa. Beyond that, being local mostly shows up in ordinary ways. Our trades are people we see at the shops. Our work is on streets we drive down every day. That is a reasonable amount of accountability built into the job before anyone signs anything.
Bryce from Taylor Projects & Solutions is amazing to deal with. Keeps you informed, does what he says he is going to do. He even went round and checked on our place during the storms. Great guy.
